About Me

I started my car career summer of 2005 after graduating high school as a lot tech.  I worked at Elway Buick GMC Pontiac in Golden.  I left after the summer, got a job at Master Driver driving school, but came back a couple of years later.  I loved being around cars and getting to drive the GTOs, Denalis, Sierras, and some cool used cars.  I spent time in the service department as a porter, and got to see that aspect of the dealership.

In 2010 I began to sell cars.  I saw Elway change to GO, to the now AutoNation stores.  A few years later I went to our Chrysler Jeep West store, then to the Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM Southwest store. In my last year at Southwest I got an opportunity to coach high school football at Arapahoe High School in 2019.  My GSM at the time was gracious enough to work with my schedule to allow me to coach.  My time in the car business was coming to an end, I was burnt out from the dealership process and hours.  I met incredible people over the years, but I was done.

I took a security job at Littleton Hospital, working night shift so I could keep coaching.  I worked from Midnight to 8AM, slept til 2:30 to go to practice, and took a quick nap before work, to do it all again.  I loved it!  Working at the hospital during Covid and coaching during Covid is something I'll never forget.  After 3 years of coaching, I saw differences with the head coach, and stopped.  I moved to day shift for security, but was offered a nice job going back into the car business.  An old friend from my Jeep West days needed an assistant to help with his broker business.  We teamed up at HM Brown and moved to Greenwood Automotive.  I studied and learned under his guidance, watched how other brokers conducted their process, and felt it was my time to go from an assistant to a full time auto broker.

The owner of Greenwood Automotive, John Schabacker, has welcomed other auto brokers under his umbrella.  John does an amazing job allowing his team to operate their own business, in their particular style.  It is refreshing to have a boss, an old car guy himself, be relaxed and focused on customer experience.  The thing that burns out sales people is the corporate grind.

I have never seen another job where I can actually help people find a car, and still feel good about myself.  Auto brokers don't push or force clients into cars, they're old car people that got tired of the dealer world.  No more working 60 hour weeks, having your pay plan adjusted, doing the song and dance of the dealer world.  I want to be able to take my kids to school and pick them up without a manager busting my chops.  What I want most is to get back to coaching.  Being an auto broker makes me feel good about my job, and allows me to pursue my dreams.
